Definitions of a Beaver Frame Relay
Courtesy of ShopforFrame Relay.com

Definition 1. - A protocol for connecting computers on a WAN. Frame Relay Beaver networks are in some cases being replaced by faster technologies, including ATM.

Definition 2. - A fast packet technology initially defined as an ISDN frame mode service. Frame relay uses a minimal set of Data Link Layer procedures across the User-to-Network Interface (UNI), providing unacknowledged transfer of variable length frames between users. Additional Layer 2 and 3 functions must be provided by the end-users. The Layer 2 protocol uses LAPF-Core procedures. The network discards any frame with bit errors. Frame relay offerings today primarily offer permanent virtual circuit (PVC) services independent of ISDN. Switched virtual circuit (SVC) services will use ISDN-like signaling for call control.

Definition 3. - A high-speed packet-switched data communications service, similar to X.25. Frame relay is a leading contender for LAN-to-LAN interconnect services, and is well suited to the bursty demands of LAN environments. See also Permanent Virtual Circuit, Switched Virtual Circuit. Fractional T1 A service in which a customer can use less than 24 channels on a T1 line without paying the cost of the entire line. Front-End Processor (FEP) A communications computer associated with a host computer that manages the lines and routing of data through the network.

Definition 4. - A protocol to replace the x.25 packet switching protocol used in the past. Frame Relay is a simplified version, owing to the vastly improved transmission facilities of today. Much of the x.25 protocol's error checking, re-sync and recovery features are no longer needed, thus Frame Relay is much moer efficient, giving way to to less overhead (control) bytes and the resultant higher overall thruput.

DS1 Service for Less Than $500
Written by - Cynthia Carmichael, Staff Writer

Finding DS1 service in your area can be a challenge. If you don't know the local providers you would likely start with your local phone company (and likely get a horrible deal). When searching for a service it's important to know which providers have POP's (Point of Presence) in your area but for some reason service providers don't like to reveal this information.

If a DS1 line is inyour near future, take the guesswork out of your search and contact a broker. Brokers are able to contact numerous providers in the time it would take you to have a conversation with one or two providers that may not even offer service in your area. Want a line for under $500? Let your broker know this and he or she will know to point you only in the direction of such companies that offer a service at this price. Our Page Keywords Are: Beaver frame relay Beaver Frame Relay line Beaver Frame Relay connection Beaver Frame Relay service Beaver Frame Relay provider Beaver Frame Relay internet Beaver Frame Relay internet connection Beaver Frame Relay service provider Beaver Frame Relay price Beaver Frame Relay speed Beaver Frame Relay internet service Beaver Frame Relay internet access Beaver fractional Frame Relay Beaver Frame Relay bandwidth Beaver Frame Relay internet service provider Beaver Frame Relay internet provider Beaver Frame Relay pricing Beaver Frame Relay internet services Beaver Frame Relay services. These keywords provide a brief overview of the services offered by ShopforFrame Relay in your city.

We recommend the use of brokers in the search for service and we also recommend using a broker to sign up for your service. Many people believe they can "beat the system" by contacting a broker to get pricing and other information as quickly as possible and will then go straight to the carrier believing they can get better service. This "end-run" process is actually a good way to cut yourself out of some of the biggest advantages of having a broker. Brokers don't mark up the price of services. They offer the same price you would get if you did go direct to the company. The advantage of ordering through a broker is that you will get a second channel of customer service. If the company is not performing to expectation you will always be able to go back to your broker who puts a significant volume through the carrier. A broker is much more likely to get the companies attention and have your problem solved. In our opinion, a broker is the only way to go!

T1 Internet Access for Dummies
Written by - Zackary Dahl, Staff Writer

The t1 internet service has been around for over 40 years but never have there been so many "flavors" available. The number of providers has jumped since deregulation in 1996 from a few dozen to several thousand. As the telecom shakedown that began in 2001 continues many of these comapnies are trying to stay afloat by capturing as many customers as possible with inexpensive products they claim to be T1. Don't be fooled!

Many of the desperate companies are putting together inferior products they claim are T1 products. Be leary of products with the funny titles like "burstable" and "reach". These products are oversubscribed much like a DSL product. This means the provider put's a singled T1 connnection in a CO (Central Office) and sells T1 connections to 3 or 4 customers hoping they don't all use the service at the same time. True T1 access means dedicated access to the internet and you always have access to 1.54Mbps.

Make sure your T1 product is a "clearchannel" product and is not shared with other users. Also be sure you have an SLA or Service Level Agreement from your provider. A SLA will specify the access you will receive and the penaly the service provider will pay if they do not provide such service. If you need help establishing the proper SLA seek the help of a professional if you don't have one in house. It's much better to pay a small fee up front than to enter a long term contract with an inferior carrier. You can also get professional assistance free of charge by simply contacting one fo the many T1 brokers on the internet.
